Small organizations must be good stewards of their mission, promises, and resources. In 2025, Live Coal is leaning more heavily on this theory. We're starting with a strategic plan to refine everything we do. We’re asking big questions about the direction of our work and its continued relevance to the community we serve: How can we sharpen what we offer and have a more significant impact?
We invite you to stay tuned as the answers emerge. We also hope you will continue proudly supporting Live Coal as we temporarily pause nonessential programming to turn our deepest focus to this process.
As of February 8, 2025, our children’s museum, The Red, will be closed. We will maintain all grant commitments in the Piety Hill and Brightmoor neighborhoods, including our youth summer art programs. As awardees of the NeighborHub grant, we’re thrilled to further develop Detroit rePatched and build an early childhood interactive greenspace.
